Alex, The diagnostics thus far suggest that your PCI modem was put together from some assemblers spare parts, as it is not giving a clean readout under Linux. Please run the modem diagnostics under Microsoft, following the directions of SoftModem.txt. Lucent/Agere/Intel software can in turn be tried, but this will not be standard or easy.
