Driver snd-ali5451 supports both audio and modem functions of the
ALI5451 card.
For modem service it is complemented by the slmodemd utility. Root command
# slmodemd -c ITALY --alsa modem:1
should setup your modem. The slmodemd is available at
http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/smartlink/
Try the package SLMODEMD_gcc4.2_alsa1.0.17.tar.gz , to get a match
with the gcc-4.2 of your System, through there is a mismatch with the
ALSA 1.0.20 version your System.
Please report back after testing in English if you can.
The diagnostic output from your Puppy Linux system is quite different
from that of most other Linux Distros.
