Marv, I have done this before, reloaded the drivers, modprobe -r them, also recompiled the slmodem-2.9.11-20090222.tar.gz and new ungrab-winmodem-20090716.tar.gz and the same thing sadly happens :(, if I revert to an older 2.6.30.X kernel, I can happily browse without any problems. I did not make any complaints since I had line problems. Now telephone line at home has been fixed, something was wrong at telephone pole :(, I tried 2.6.31 and have not compiled newer 2.6.31.4 or 5 that has been out because it might make no difference when this modem no longer working with 2.6.31 based kernels :(, I can use it with Slax which uses 2.6.27.27 kernel, but the problems lie with newer kernels, I know that the code is volunteer supported and I am very and have been appreciative of that for all the service I have gotten from my smartlink modems. If there is any other new code that I can try out, comment some functions out(new ones in 2.6.31 not present in 2.6.30 or previous), I can try them out and report back.
