Trying to test my own procedure below, the linux-image-2.6.27-9-generic.deb and the agrsm-2.6.27-9-generic_2.6.27-9.14a_i386.deb were installed. But trying to reboot with the 2.6.27-9-generic, a problem manifested. The 2.6.27-9-generic boot option was not presented in the bootup memu. Presently I'll work this out, but no use following the advice below in the mean time.
