can anyone help me on this? ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Tuan Faiez Ezwan Tuan Sulaiman <emix101@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Sat, Oct 17, 2009 at 11:45 AM Subject: Re: FAIEZ MALAYSIA kernel 2.6.28-15-generic To: Antonio Olivares <olivares14031@xxxxxxxxx> Hi, Thanks for your reply. My machine has a dual boot OS; vista and Jaunty. I checked in device manager from vista, it says I'm using a modem from CXT; I assume it was Conexant. Therefore I search for linux driver for this type of modem and got into linuxant.com; first installing alsa-driver-linuxant still not working and then try to install the hsf modem driver still not working. Firstly, I refused to use the hsf modem driver because it says that I have to pay for the full version, that's why I try to install alsa-driver-linuxant; thought that could help me. Because using the free version from linuxant only give me 14.4kbps. Is there any alternative than linuxant that is free, therefore I could use my modem fully(56kbps) for internet connection without have to pay for modem drivers.
