Terry

Do
$ sudo mv  /etc/modprobe.d/terry.con /etc/modprobe.d/terry.conf
to stop the:
WARNING: All config files need .conf: /etc/modprobe.d/terry.con, it
will be ignored in a future release.

$ sudo modprobe agrserial
should be done after each bootup, to create the modem port

Your Ubuntu install disk can be used as a Rescue Disk But for any
Rescue Disk experiemce in Command line usage is necessary.
