Last night I put together a DEB installer with the kernel+modules functional for support of modem chips on HDA cards, This is a Debian like set, that provided support as Pablo reported earlier. It is available at http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/ltmodem/11c11040/ the Jaunty compatible: linux-image-2.6.28-10-686_1slmodem_i386.deb After download to Linux $ sudo dpkg -i linux*.deb and manually update the grub menu: $ sudo update-grub There was no problem booting with this kernel on my Jaunty system, through I lack an appropriate modem for the function test.
