Sasan, scanModem detects that your modem is/could be supported by SLMODEMD.gcc4.3.tar.gz. For candidate modem in: 00:1b.0 0403 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G Primary device ID: 8086:27d8 Subsystem PCI_id 1179:ff10 Softmodem codec or chipset from diagnostics: 0x11c13026 from Archives: The HDA card softmodem chip is 0x11c13026 Support type needed or chipset: slmodemd supporting the snd-hda-intel audio+modem driver An ALSA (Advanced Linux Sound Architecture) modem driver: snd-hda-intel provides Low Level support enabling contact with the modem hardware. For all BUT Conexant chip soft modems (using hsfmodem software) complementary High Level support is through a Smartlink utility: slmodemd Download from http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/smartlink/ the package SLMODEMD.gcc4.3.tar.gz having a compiled slmodemd. Unpack under Linux with: $ tar zxf SLMODEMD.gcc4.3.tar.gz and read instructions therein. But briefly, the modem is setup with command: $ sudo slmodemd -c YOUR_COUNTRY --alsa hw:0,6 reporting dynamic creation of ports: /dev/ttySL0 --> /dev/pts/N , with N some number Read DOCs/Smartlink.txt and Modem/DOCs/YourSystem.txt for follow through guidance. It also detects that you have an IRQ/sharing problem :( For candidate card in slot 00:1b.0, firmware information and bootup diagnostics are: PCI slot PCI ID SubsystemID Name ---------- --------- --------- -------------- 00:1b.0 8086:27d8 1179:ff10 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G Modem interrupt assignment and sharing: 22: 6354586 153 IO-APIC-fasteoi HDA Intel --- Bootup diagnostics for card in PCI slot 00:1b.0 ---- [ 11.668924] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 22 (level, low) -> IRQ 22 [ 11.668994] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: setting latency timer to 64 [ 8084.088136] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A disabled [ 8084.592060] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: restoring config space at offset 0x3 (was 0x0, writing 0x10) [ 8084.592067] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: restoring config space at offset 0x1 (was 0x100006, writing 0x100002) [ 8084.592089] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 22 (level, low) -> IRQ 22 [ 8084.592096] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: setting latency timer to 64 [33501.448752] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A disabled [33502.092058] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: restoring config space at offset 0x3 (was 0x0, writing 0x10) [33502.092065] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: restoring config space at offset 0x1 (was 0x100006, writing 0x100002) [33502.092087] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 22 (level, low) -> IRQ 22 [33502.092093] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: setting latency timer to 64 [33510.768755] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A disabled [33511.376057] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: restoring config space at offset 0x3 (was 0x0, writing 0x10) [33511.376063] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: restoring config space at offset 0x1 (was 0x100006, writing 0x100002) [33511.376087] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 22 (level, low) -> IRQ 22 [33511.376093] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: setting latency timer to 64 [35039.420765] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A disabled [35040.072058] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: restoring config space at offset 0x3 (was 0x0, writing 0x10) [35040.072065] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: restoring config space at offset 0x1 (was 0x100006, writing 0x100002) [35040.072087] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 22 (level, low) -> IRQ 22 [35040.072094] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: setting latency timer to 64 [35068.244758] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A disabled [35068.860058] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: restoring config space at offset 0x3 (was 0x0, writing 0x10) [35068.860065] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: restoring config space at offset 0x1 (was 0x100006, writing 0x100002) [35068.860087] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 22 (level, low) -> IRQ 22 [35068.860094] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: setting latency timer to 64 [51600.168758] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A disabled [51600.772058] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: restoring config space at offset 0x3 (was 0x0, writing 0x10) [51600.772065] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: restoring config space at offset 0x1 (was 0x100006, writing 0x100002) [51600.772087] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 22 (level, low) -> IRQ 22 [51600.772094] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: setting latency timer to 64 [106561.576135] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A disabled [106562.192060] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: restoring config space at offset 0x3 (was 0x0, writing 0x10) [106562.192067] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: restoring config space at offset 0x1 (was 0x100006, writing 0x100002) [106562.192089] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 22 (level, low) -> IRQ 22 [106562.192097] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: setting latency timer to 64 [115384.328768] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A disabled [115384.936059] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: restoring config space at offset 0x3 (was 0x0, writing 0x10) [115384.936066] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: restoring config space at offset 0x1 (was 0x100006, writing 0x100002) [115384.936088] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 22 (level, low) -> IRQ 22 [115384.936095] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: setting latency timer to 64 [128307.100768] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A disabled [128307.712059] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: restoring config space at offset 0x3 (was 0x0, writing 0x10) [128307.712065] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: restoring config space at offset 0x1 (was 0x100006, writing 0x100002) [128307.712088] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 22 (level, low) -> IRQ 22 [128307.712095] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: setting latency timer to 64 The PCI slot 00:1b.0 of the modem card may be disabled early in a bootup process, but then enabled later. If modem drivers load but the modem is not responsive, read DOCs/Bootup.txt about possible fixes. Send dmesg.txt along with ModemData.txt to discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx if help is needed. If you try the SLMODEMD.gcc4.3 and the modem does not seem to respond, apply the above advice and send it to us. Regards, Antonio On 9/10/09, Sasan <sasan1365@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > > >
