Anne

You get 3 points for revealing a display bug in scanModem, which I'll
fix shortly.  Please run:
$ bash -x ./scanModem 2>&1  |  tee anne
Then
$ gzip anne
and send me the anne.gz , which will help me debug.

But the critical correct info is:
0403 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H
     Primary device ID:  8086:284b
   Subsystem PCI_id  1179:ff64
   Softmodem codec or chipset from diagnostics: 0x14f12c06
--------------------
This is a Conexant modem chip requiring hsfmodem software from Linux

as Jacques has instructed.
