Have you tried Phillipe Vouter's lastest driver(s): http://vouters.dyndns.org:8080/Intel/intel-536EP-537EP_2009_07_04.tar.bz2
I am connecting without problems on 2.6.30.1. Have not compiled 2.6.30.2 on this machine yet, but I believe everything should work.
The problem seems to fixed now, with the above driver version testing on 2.6.30.2.
