Instead of uselessly paying for Internet communications when then there
is a problem with the driver, you'd better use the command:
        $ efax -vewinchmart
efax software is available at http://vouters.dyndns.org:8080/Intel/
to build it:
$ cd efax
$ make -f Makefile.orig
