My modem is working in slackware distro.
Linux darkstar 2.6.27.7-smp #2 SMP Thu Nov 20 22:32:43 CST 2008 i686
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.06GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
But I have not tested in 2.6.28 kernel yet.
I'm using the agrsm-20090502.tar.gz release.
