Alexander The 11c1:0620 Agere Modem cannot be supported on x86_64 installations, because the code package has a precompiled 32 bit component which cannot be combined with 64 bit code. If you choose to reinstall Debian entirely, as a 32 bit installation, the modem can likely be supported.
