You 'sign in" : what does this mean?
Is it clear to you that you must live this command running in some window:
slmodemd -c CANADA --alsa modem:1
and then launch wvdial in an OTHER window?
Next, in your wvdial.conf , have you removed the leading ; in the line
containing your ISP's phone number?
Is this number correct? wvdial only finds a 0 (zero) there, not quite
enough to dial out.
