Also at http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/ltmodem/11c11040/
the agrsm-tools package supports driver autoloading,
but does not itself contain drivers.
Install with
$ sudo dpkg -i agrsm-tools*.deb
after the
$ sudo  dpkg -i agrsm-2.6.27-7-generic*.deb

The currently used agrsm code is from updates at
http://linux.zsolttech.com/linmodem/
Once online you could follow the
 example at: http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/bigarch/archive-eighth/msg03863.html
which would automate subsequent updates, with future kernel updates
