Re: Modem Driver compilation error:

Ernie,

Word of Advice, for kernels >= 2.6.25, the
slmodem-2.9.11-20080126.tar.gz does not work.
First look in Ubuntu/ directory for a precompiled driver that matches
your kernel 2.6.27-7-generic:

http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/smartlink/Ubuntu/

It does not exist, so you proceed to get the latest
slmodem-2.9.11-200ABBCC.tar.gz

Get the latest one available
http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/smartlink/slmodem-2.9.11-20080817.tar.gz

attempt to compile again, if for any reason it fails to compile, let
us know and report back. There's a possibility that the precompiled
one might also come in soon.

Regards,

Antonio
