For
Class 0780, Communication controller: Agere Systems Unknown device 0620
      Primary device ID:  11c1:0620
 Support type needed or chipset:	SV2P
-----------
One of three needed drivers may already be providwed by your
 /lib/modules/2.6.24-19-generic/ubuntu/sound/alsa-driver/pci/hda/snd-hda-intel.ko

from http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/ltmodem/11c11040/  get
the package agrsm-ubuntu8.04.1-2.6.24-19-generic.tar.gz
It can be unpacked with:
$ tar zxf  agrsm*.tar.gz

Inittially ,we only want to try using two of the drivers therein, and
for now bypass using the setup.
Make a abbreviation (without spaces)
$  SITE= /lib/modules/2.6.24-19-generic/extra/
check with
$ echo $SITE
/lib/modules/2.6.24-19-generic/extra/
should be reported.

Next make a folder:
$ sudo mkdir  -p $SITE

Move into the drivers folder
$ cd  agrsm-ubuntu8.04.1-2.6.24-19-generic
$ ls *.ko
should display three drivers. Copy out only the agrmodem.ko and
agrserial.ko drivers with:
$ sudo cp  agr*.ko   $SITE
There should be reported for
$ ls $SITE
agrmodem.ko agrserial.ko

Inform  the System with:
$ sudo depmod -a
Report back if there are any error messages.

If OK, reboot, Follow the instructions of the agrsm_howto.txt
snd-hda-intel.ko will autoload. Manual load the modem drivers with:
$ sudo agrmodem
$ sudo agrserial

If no errors proceed further with the agrsm_howto.txt instructions
Report back presently.
