---------------
The port used by older Open Source USB drivers is /dev/ttyACM,

The port used by the dgcmodem software is /dev/ttySHSF

Port designations are created on demand under current Device File
System controls, when the software is matched with resident hardware.
Then the pair together detemine the characteristics of the port
dynamically created in the /dev/ folder, which itself is in RAM space
and not on the hard disk.

Only when there is a USB dgcmodem attached, will the dgcmodem create
the software.
