Dear Mr. Bor de Tor,

You need to read the manual for patch with command
man patch
Once you have read it calmly a few times to make sure that you understand, you apply the patch file to the initial unpatched file to produce the patchED file which you then compile as you would have done for the UNpatchED.

one more question.. I know how to recompile the ALSA... but how to
recompile it including the patch?

Thanks

Hey,
I'll give this a whirl on 2.6.25 and report back.
Great work all!

Hello Luciano,

You use this code,

http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/ltmodem/11c11040/agere_modem.tar.gz
make module
make install

only is necessary load modules agrmodem.ko y
agereserial.ko

and to be created the device /dev/ttyAGS3 then to
configure gnome-ppp, for
example, it isn't necessary any agere daemon.

For to resolv HDA symbols, to use this patch

http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/ltmodem/11c11040/hda_symbols.patch
recompile your ALSA kernel version or other with
this patch and reload the
HDA modules.

Regards

Jacques,
Please put in the 11c11040/ folder, so we are
old working with the
same resource
It should be the same as described in:

    Hi all,

agrmodem/agrserial pair (with

loaded successfully!

    No unresolved hda_codec_read/write symbol
issues.

Here's what I did: 1. get the file

=====================
I have applied the patches that were included in the
agrsm-2.1.80-2mdv2009.0.src.rpm
and thus did not include them in the updated
agrsm-20080626.tar.gz

When testing, manually do:
  modprobe agrmodem
  modprobe agerserial
to better identify when problems occur

Please provide guidance to Luciano as you have the
11c11040 chipset
modem and I do not

Luciano's system is
CPU=i686,  Ubuntu Linux version 2.6.24-19-generic
Compiling resources are OK, provided that
linux-libc-dev and libc6-dev
packages
are not additionally needed

The tarball that will follow originated by tracking

http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/idpl/7812083/com/dkms-agrsm-2.1.80-1mdv2009.0.noarch.rpm.html
to the Mandiva repository.
It was unpacked under Debian using the utility: unp
This revealed
agrsm-2.1.80-ONE_A1XX-20080527 (with compiling
code), agrsm.spec and
hda_codec.h
and the several patches listed below:

Info included in agrsm.spec include:
1) The agrsm was originally downloaded from
#

http://service.one.de/download/index.php?&direction=0&order=&directory=NOTEBOOKS/ONE_A1xx/Linux%20Drivers/Source-code
(presumable where Mandiva got it)
2) Source1:

/usr/src/linux-2.6.24.5-1mnb/sound/pci/hda/hda_codec.h
I presume that the hda_codec.h should be copied to
 /usr/include/
Its absense thereat may be the cause of un resolved
symbols some of
you have reported.. Alternatively, it may be
necessary to put it in a
kernel-source tree, and recompile a kernel+modules
including it.
3) The patches below,
Patch0:
modem-update-device_interrupt-definition.patch
Patch1: modem-update-for-serial-changes.patch
Patch2: modem-update-irq-flags.patch
Patch3: modem-update-hda-structs.patch
Patch4: modem-fix-ptr-warnings.patch
Patch5: modem-drvname.patch
Patch6:
agrsm-2.1.80-ONE_A1XX-20080527-modprobe.patch
Patch7:
agrsm-2.1.80-ONE_A1XX-20080527-hda_codec.patch
Patch8: agrsm-2.1.80-ONE_A1XX-20080527-LSB.patch
I have successful applied, and thus changed the date
from
20080527 to 20080626 in the tarball that follows
