Jonah,

Compiling requires linux-libc-dev and libc6-dev packages
 In not included on your install CD, search for them at
http://packages.ubuntu.com
Download and copy to your Linux folder. Install with:
$ sudo dpkg -i li*.deb
This will complete your compiling support.

Then at http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/ltmodem/kernel-2.6/martian/
get the package specific to the modem: martian-full-20080407.tar.gz
Under Linux unpack with:
$ tar zxf mar*.tar.gz
Move into the folder with:
$ cd  martian-full-20080407
Look around
$ ls
Clean up (this is necessary for reuse of the package)
$ make clean
Compile the components with:
$ make
Do in install with:
$ sudo make install.

Details are in the included documentation.

I do not have any Internet Connection on my Linux computer and the only connection I have is Dial-up. I also can only use internet on my Windows Vista Computer. I do have a Thumb drive to transfer the data.
