you were right, and you were right!!

I don't need PCI hotplugging and blacklisting the sbshc module helped the boot 
process complete!!  Takes quite a bit longer than it used to, but it 
completes cleanly (nothing exciting in dmesg).

Two interesting questions remain:
1) What's the root cause of slamr interfering with sbshc
2) Are you ever off duty :-)
