Manish,

With the failure of the hsfmodem diagnistics to report a Conexant chip
and a line like

06-00 SomeModem
missing from

The /proc/asound/pcm file reports:
-----------------------
00-02: ALC883 Analog : ALC883 Analog : capture 1
00-01: ALC883 Digital : ALC883 Digital : playback 1
00-00: ALC883 Analog : ALC883 Analog : playback 1 : capture 1

it seems most likey that the archival information
CodecArchived=11c13026 (modem chip)
is correct for

CLASS="Class 0403: 8086:27d8"
NAME="Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G "
PCIDEV=8086:27d8
SUBSYS=1025:0110

but that for reasons obscure the ALSA tools are not activating it.

Unless this is something new entirely.
Would you please follow the instructions in SoftModem.txt to do modem
diagnostics under Microsoft, and try to readout the Driver Details
information there under.
