Jacques,
   Note that Phillipe has recent package updates at:
http://vouters.dyndns.org:8080/Intel/

Phillippe,
   intel-536EP-2.56.76.0_2008_03_22.bz2
intel-537EP_secure-2.60.80.0_2008_03_22.bz2
need to be renamed to tar.bz2
Unpacking is OK when I do so.

Kevin for:
 PCI slot PCI ID SubsystemID Name
 ----------    ---------    ---------    --------------
 00:0a.0    8086:1040    8086:1000    Communication controller: Intel
Corporation 536EP Data Fax Mode

download from http://vouters.dyndns.org:8080/Intel/
intel-536EP-2.56.76.0_2008_03_22.bz2
rename with:
$ mv intel-536EP-2.56.76.0_2008_03_22.bz2
intel-536EP-2.56.76.0_2008_03_22.tar.bz2
Unpack with:
# tar jxf intel*,tar,bz2
which will generate a folder:
intel-536EP-2.56.76.0/    with files
config_check  hamregistry    Intel536_inst  makefile
coredrv       Intel536_boot  license.txt    readme.txt

Follow instructions therein.

 Please run:
$ bash  -x  ./scanModem  2>&1  | tee Kevin2.txt
$ gzip Kevin.txt
and send me the Kevin2.txt.gz
