Primary PCI_id 10b9:5457 Subsystem PCI_id 1179:0001is supported by ungrab-winmodem + slamr driversplus the slmodemd helper.

Download slamr-2.6.22-14-generic.tar.gz fromhttp://linmodems.technion.il/packages/smartlink/Ubuntu/ under Linux, open a terminal and unpack with: $ tar zxvf slamr*.tar.gz Move into the unpacked folder $ cd slamr-2.6.22-14-generic Look around $ ls Run the $ sudo ./setup
Afterwards do: $ slmodemd --help $ slmodemd --countrylist
Do an edit with: $ sudo gedit /etc/default/sl-modem-daemon and therein edit the COUNTRY line into: SLMODEMD_COUNTRY=CUBA This will provide for the correct Country setting in the automated: slmodemd -c CUBA /dev/slamr0run by the bootup scripts.
Reboot
Try a dialout with:$ sudo wvdial
This is one of the more troublesome modems.Report back if you have problems.
