Hello Linmodem Teachers/Helpers, I've been trying on and off for over a month to get my modem to work with Gutsy but I just can"t figure it out so I'm finally going to ask for help. My PCI modem has a Davicom 9102A chipset and the Davicom company actually makes a driver for it for Linux kernel 2.6; blessum! The driver is called dmfe_1.43.tar.gz and is at this location in case anybody else has one of these modems: http://www.davicom.com.tw/eng/download/Driver/driver_9102a.htm Anyway, I don't know how to proceed from here. How do I install the driver? After the driver is installed, is there a GUI available to control the modem? How do I configure the modem? I have another computer still running XP so I can fetch any needed software if I can learn how to work with it. I don't know if attachments will work, so my latest ModemData.txt file follows: Only plain text email is forwarded by the Discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx List Server, as HTML can contain viruses. Use as the email Subject Line: YourName, YourCountry kernel 2.6.22-14-generic With this Subject Line cogent experts will be alerted, and useful case names left in the Archive. YourCountry will enable Country specific guidance. Your contry's local Linux experts can be found through: http://www.linux.org/groups/index.html.
