If it is an internal modem, also return the outputs of $ lspci $ lspci -nv from within which, scanModem usually automatically picks out PCI card modems Also if it is internal run $ bash -x ./scanModem 2>&1 | tee blake.txt and send me the blake.txt so I can assess if scanModem needs a fix.
