The good news is that the modem does work with sl-modemd running in the terminal and using 'sudo gnome-ppp' to dial. The issue now pertains to Tone dialing versus Pulse dialing. Tone works fine, at my second location, Pule dialing does not connect me to the internet. Does sl-modemd support Pulse phone service?
