Hi all I am running ubuntu 7.10 and I believe I have an intel ich7 modem. I am attaching ModemData.txt along this.I only downloaded sl-modem-daemon and set this in /etc/default/sl-modem-daemon SLMODEMD_DEVICE="hw:0" SLMODEMD_COUNTRY=SAUDIARABIA The modem seems to be working fine (can query the modem using kppp) until I try to dial out. KPPP,efax and even wvdial repeatedly gives me "No Carrier" problem. One important thing is that I need to dial *9 to access outside line. Here is my wvdial.conf [Dialer Defaults] Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0 Carrier Check = no Stupid Mode = 1 #Modem Type = Analog Modem Phone = *9,3660123 #ISDN = 0 Username = test Init1 = ATZ Password = test Modem = /dev/ttySL0 Baud = 460800 Hope some one can help.
