You have to overcome the problem

Read the Bootup.txt on possible routes.

That achieved your modem will setup with
# slmodemd  -c BRAZIL --alsa modem:0
   or perhaps modem:1  , depending on whether the Trident audio card
claims hw:0 (modem:0)

You can get information on the slmodemd stuff by faking proper action
of your modem with
# ./scanModem test  1039:7013    1039:7013
which will access archival information on the 1039:7013    1039:7013    pair
