RE: Vendor Id: 0x11c11040This chipset is an outstanding problem which has been reported to theALSA snd-hda-intel maintainer.
The core problem is that the 0x11c11040 is really not a derivative ofthe Silicon Instruments 3054 base chip, as contrasted to theslmodemd+snd-hda-intel supported 0x11c13026. Rather our LSI/Agerecontact informs us that 0x11c11040 is their own in-house fabrication.
Typically LSI only develops Linux support when some major buyer of thecogent chip sponsors the software development. Knowing that0x11c11040 is being used in some Hewlett Package PCs, we contactedtheir Linux support people. While a very sympathetic response wasreturned, they do not project such sponsorship at this time.
