scanModem is built to identify PCI modems.
Clearly there is no PCI modem in your computer.
scanModem also detects so-called very recent HDA modems integrated in
the sound system. No such device has been found in your computer.
As fas as I know the T40 is quite old.
What sort of modem does yours have?
-an external modem connected to the 9 pins connector at the back of the
computer?
-an USB external modem?
-a PCMCIA removable credit card size modem?
