compiling is necessary.  packages must be installed, providing:
        kernel-devel-2.6.15-1.2054_FC5smp
        libc6-dev
and any of its dependents, under Ubuntu, linux-libc-dev

Then at: http://phep2.technion.ac.il/linmodems/packages/ltmodem/kernel-2.6/martian/
 , get current update martian-full-20071011.tar.gz
and use it to compile and install drivers.
