I need your good will.
You will certainly understand that I cannot keep an eye on the activity
of the server round the clock. I too have something else to do.
PLEASE DROP ME A NOTE IF AND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE IF YOU OBSERVE THE
SERVER TO BE SLOW.
My observation of a clear abuse today was completely accidental, and I
do not know how many of you suffered during the last 24 hours.
Somebody, let's call her/him X, started accessing the server on November
24 at 14:00 GMT. Following 10 connections expected when calling the
server for a first time in life, there have been 42 downloads of
scanModem from that address in a time window of 2 hours.
From November 25 at 4:45 GMT until I took action today, the same address
accessed the server 12243 times of which 16 for probably legitimate
needs followed by 12227 requests to download the same file
/packages/Intel/537/intel-537EP_secure-2.60.80.0_07_05_2007.tgz
This is NOT user 200-138-0-63.cscgo702.dsl.brasiltelecom.net.br who
however triggered repeated downloads of the SAME file.
When a person like X decides to plague our community, I need a trigger
from the community to handle the person.
