Colin, For 115d:000c Serial controller: Xircom Mini-PCI V.90 56k Modem The modem has a Lucent/Agere/LSI Mars or Apollo DSP (digital signal processing) chipset. See AgereDSP.txt for Details Get the driver code package martian-full-20071011.tar.gz from http://phep2.technion.ac.il/linmodems/packages/ltmodem/kernel-2.6/martian/ Some additional kernel-headers will be needed. If you have an alternate ethernet CONNECT it will be simplest to $ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install linux-kernel-devel While some of the files may be on the install CD, others may have to be found through http://packages.ubuntu.com For Ubuntu Feisty, minimal additional packages required are: libc6-dev linux-libc-dev available through http://packages.ubuntu.com/ , if not on the install CD. When downloaded into a Linux partition, both can be installed with: $ sudo dpkg -i lib*.deb Then you can use the martian-full-20071011.tar.gz $ tar xzf mar*.tar.gz which will unpack the folder. Just follow the directions therein. Write back if you need further help MarvS On 10/23/07, Colin Lehmann <colin.lehmann@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Modemdata.txt attached.
