The slusb compiles fine with your patch.
But are you certain you ran the function tests in 64 bit mode.

The slmodemd working with the modem drivers has a pre-compiled 32 bit
component, the modem/dsplibs.o .
This has blocked its usage iin 64 bit mode with the Open Source ALSA
modem drivers:
snd-intel8x0m
snd-atiixp-modem
snd-via82xx-mofrm

So a success of slmodemd + slusb in 64 bit modem is puzzling.
