Load the driver $ sudo modprobe martian_drv If should be activated by: $ sudo martian_modem reporting port creation. Check if the modem is found with: $ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf If so do an edit with: $ sudo gedit /etc/wvdial.conf adding a line: Carrier Check = no and replacing the <xxxx> items with your dialout info. Then try a dialout with: $ sudo wvdial Report back presently.
