slamr-2.6.20-16-generic.tar.gz is the wrong package for your 2.6.20-16-386kernel the versions don't match. Use the slamr-2.6.20-15-386.tar.gz after $ sudo rm /lib/modules/2.6.20-16-386/*.ko MarvS On 7/24/07, Keneth W. Jones <mkjones@xxxxxxxxx> wrote:
Firas, Once again, you are a scholar and gentleman. It worked fine the first time. I really appreciate you taking the time to compile the modules for Ubuntu's 2.6.20-16-386 kernel. One thing: I had to lock out the sl-modem package available in the Ubuntu reposistory to prevent it from breaking your installation. Of course, I had to learn the hard way.;) Now, I will do further research to figure out why I can't compile now (the missing config.h problem I'm experiencing - it sure sounds like a missing header file). I wonder if there is any necessity in keeping all those previous Linux header, kernel, etc. files from previous kernel upgrades - I have 3 different kernel versions listed in the Grub menu now. (Just thinking out loud). BTW: I was able to compile the modules once before in Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS following your instructions when my Linux kernel was updated. Again, thanks for all your help.:) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Firas Kraiem" <fkraiem@xxxxxxx> To: "Keneth W.
