I sent an email on 7 june re problems with a soft mosem and received a
helpful reply.
My computer is a laptop Toshiba Sattellite A105 - S4384
I have progressed further but still cannot connect to the internet, I am
blocked by a no carrier error.
I have attached the ModemData file for my computer, the wvdial.config
file, a copy of the terminal window 1 where I ran slmodemd and a second
window where I started wvdial. They show I get a no carrier despite
having Carrier Check=no in wvdial.config. If you can help me to connect
I will be grateful

The PCI slot 00:1b.0 of the modem card may be disabled early in
a bootup process, but then enabled later. If modem drivers load
but the modem is not responsive, read Bootup.txt about possible fixes.
