David, UK, Ubuntu 7.04 kernel 2.6.20-15-generic - Help Please

Help Please! I've just installed Ubuntu on a dual boot Windows XP laptop with internal modem, but can't get it to dial-up. It works fine with XP. I'm new to Ubuntu and Linux so don't know how to resolve the problem. Is is something to do with the modem / lack of a driver? I've run the utility as suggested on the web site with the output below but I don't understand what it means. Thanks for any help!

The PCI slot 00:1f.6 of the modem card may be disabled early in
a bootup process,  but then enabled later. If modem drivers load
but the  modem is not responsive, read Bootup.txt about possible fixes.
