Sasha,

There are some 10-20 0x11c11040 cases now and none are working.
A common feature in their kernel messages is like:
--------
[17179578.596000] hda_codec: Unknown model for ALC861, trying auto-probe
from BI OS...
[17179578.924000] ALSA
/usr/src/alsa/alsa-driver-1.0.11/pci/hda/../../alsa-kerne
l/pci/hda/patch_si3054.c:245: si3054: cannot initialize. EXT MID = 0000
[17179578.932000] ACPI: PCI interrupt for device 0000:00:14.2 disabled
[17179578.932000] HDA Intel: probe of 0000:00:14.2 failed with error -13
------------
with that strange full pathname to /alsa-driver-1.0.11/pci/hda/../../alsa-kerne
l/pci/hda/patch_si3054.c:245: present in all cases. Should such
source code PATH info survive in a compiled driver?

It is the same problem across a few different HDA host cards.

This is true into the 1.0.14rc1 code (having had a check on rc2).
I did file a bug report with ALSA. I'll forward you the info.

Jose bugtrack number is 0002799.

Do we know about any _working_ 0x11c11040 modem?
