seems to be a compiled slmodemd in the main directory that is not needed nor used in slmodem-2.9.11-20070204.tar.gz. I noticed this by applying the slmodem-last-2.6.19.1.patch.gz to the past version slmodem-2.9.11-20061021.tar.gz, then doing a 'diff -r slmodem-2.9.11-20070204/ slmodem-2.9.11-20061021/' slmodem-2.9.11-20061021$ patch -p1 < ../slmodem-last-2.6.19.1.patch patching file drivers/amrmo_init.c patching file drivers/st7554.c $ diff -r slmodem-2.9.11-20061021/ slmodem-2.9.11-20070204/ Only in slmodem-2.9.11-20070204/: slmodemd also, the modem/slmodemd which is created by 'make install' is what's finding it's way into /usr/sbin .. regards,
