Hi,
Thanks for the help, I'm a newbie and am trying to
make the switch to Linux. I'm setting up a computer
for my mother to use to browse the Internet. She only
has dial-up as an option. There is a fresh install of
Ubuntu.
A cd came with the modem and has three files in a
folder labeled Linux: slmdm-2.7.15.tar &
slmdm-dix.patch. The "read me" file only mentions
installation under RedHat. I have not tried to install
anything because I don't really understand what I'm
doing.
The lspci command shows (among others things):
01:08.0 Modem: Smart Link Ltd. SmartLink SmartPCI562
56K Modem (rev 04)
I will continue to attempt to sort through the
information.
