Dear all, I visited your linmodems.org page and could run the ScanMODEM software on my newly installed UBUNTU Dapper on my toshiba M45-S359. Sorry,.. I think I reached my limit and will need some help from you of how to proceed with the modem installation. I copied the ModemData file below. It is quite important for me to get the modem installed as I live in a coutry side area with no broad band internet. Thanks much in advance Mauricio ------------- ModemData.txt---------------- DO use the following line as the email Subject Line, to alert cogent experts: scanModem, Ubuntu 6.06.1 kernel 2.6.15-27-386 Occassionally reponses are blocked by an Internet Providers mail filters. Test the effectiveness of the hsfmodem package from http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hsf/index.php. The debian Linux includes sl-modem packages with Smartlink drivers Install the kernel-headers-2.6.15-27-386.deb If necessary, set a symbolic link needed for slmodem compiling: # ln -s /usr/src/kernel-headers-2.6.15-27-386 /lib/modules/2.6.15-27-386/build as described in Modem/DriverCompiling.txt Then install the two sl-modem/slmodem packages and follow their directions. Thereafter the above slamr diagnositic can be run.
