Build fail in mariadb on fedora 40

Hi,
  I'm getting:

Host: Fedora 40, x86-64
configured with:
./configure --srcdir=/discs/fast/core --enable-option-checking=fatal --enable-debug

using --with-system-mariadb fixed it.

  I originally filed this as:
