Hello, Taking a look at LanguageTool (grammar checker), I just wonder if we still use it. Indeed, LanguageTool is a Java component we have in version 1.7 whereas last version is 4.6 (see https://extensions.libreoffice.org/extensions/languagetool) and it seemed to me we prefer the extension LightProof which uses Python. Taking a look at git history, there's a config fix in 04/2019, a slight fix in uitest in 08/2017, then you have about 20 commits between 2010 and 2014. Taking a look at tdf bugtracker, I found above these 3 which contain "languagetool" in their title: - tdf#36540: XProofreader gets both deleted and inserted tracked changes, causing spurious errors marked by LanguageTool - tdf#92153: LanguageTool invokes appearing of pop-ups on (seemingly) unrelated moments when JRE is disabled - tdf#101687: LanguageTool - double spaces in automatic line break aren't highlighted Considering all this, I wonder if it could be removed so : - we may decruftify a bit LO code - remove a bit of Java dependency - promote LightProof If we finally want to keep languagetool, perhaps we should create a new enhancement bug to upgrade it. Any thoughts?
