You can use iputils ping to generate streams and bursts, but it's not
perfect - still useful, but you need to check with rate estimators/
tcpdump timestamps on a different box what is happening.
ping -l 10 -i 0.02 ....... will burst 10 then do 50pps. For me it goes a
few pps slow if I run 5 instances + 5 netperfs.
