Title: HTB's scalability

I am new to this list, so, bear with me if this question has been answered already.

We are looking at a high end Linux router (Dual Xeon) as our platform to perform high speed packet processing and
Have some concerns oh how well HTB will scale with an offered load of 1Gbps and a large number of flows
That need to be policed (up to 5000).

My questions follow:

1) Up to what traffic loads (in Mbps) does HTB scale?
2) How many classes (qdiscs??) can HTB support?
3) What is the timer granularity at which HTB operates?

Feel free

Thanks in advance,
