Re: How to route internal addresses?

Linux Advanced Routing and Traffic Control

Although the original question was retracted, this
does bring up an ionteresting point - how to make
Linux treat certain IP ranges on certain devices as
though it were a hub or switch, rather than a router,
and/or route over the remainder.

This is a much more specific and complex problem than
merely copying traffic over via a bridge, as it means
you can have the following scenario:

Subnets A, B, C come in on card X
Subnets D, E come in on card Y
Subnet F comes in on card Z

A goes to Y as per a hub, but routes to Z
B goes to Y, Z as a switch
The remainder are routed over all

Arguably, hub/switch dynamics is beyond the scope of a
routing list, but nobody can argue that this isn't an
advanced problem in networking.
