Hi. I use squid (2.5.STABLE4) with probing to parent squid's on ISP-side (2 ISP in my case). And also use "weight" parameter for parents. For first ISP I'v use weight 1, for second 10. Like this cache_peer 1.1.1.1 parent 3128 3130 no-delay weight=10 cache_peer 2.2.2.2 parent 3128 3130 no-delay weight=1 So most requests go via 10-weghted ISP untill it not marked "dead" (see /var/log/squid/cache.log) or "tcp connection failed". In that case request will go via second ISP (weight=1). when 1.1.1.1 "wake ip" :) requests again return in "right way". > > To: Lartc List <lartc@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Subject: Re: Routing for Squid > > > > > hi all, > > > > > > i'm using squid as a proxy server, and have 2 gateway f > > or internet access, > > > currently i'm using 1 gateway for the internet access, > > if that gateway is > > > down then i have to change it manually the the 2nd gate > > way. > > > can anyone help me with the configuration that will aut > > omatically switch to > > > 2nd gateway if the 1st gateway is down. > > > > > > Thanks in advance > > > > > Santiago J.
