MAC Addresses & Squid + TC

Linux Advanced Routing and Traffic Control

Hi all, Stef,

I got 2 questions:

1. Is it possible to assign bandwidth by MAC addresses?, without requiring me to use iptable/ebtable markings, but the u32 filters only?

2. Since Squid rewrites the packets and so markings are lost, iptables marking will not be suitable if you intend to run Squid & TC on the same machine, i have tried the Squid patch but didnt work for me. Does anyone have Squid and TC working in tandem, maybe using just the u32 filter markings, thus even if squid rewrites the headers, since its not catching by fw marks it will still work ?

Stef thanks for the reply, will keep studying...

TIA

K
